Word International Ministries of Nova Scotia celebrated their annual Family Fun Day last July 14 with the theme of “Harvest” at Oakfield Park. Around 130 people was gathered on this momentous day that’s filled with exciting activities and unforgettable experiences.
“He said to his disciples, “The harvest is great, but the workers are few. So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send more workers into his fields.” Matthew 9:37-38 NLT

The event was started with a praise and worship led by the worship team director, Bro. Rex Castillo and the Youth Director, Sis. Princess Plaza. Later on, the families were arranged into two teams, Bagani and Bunga. it was started with chants and cheers from the two different teams.

The special day was continued with thrilling activities that really engages the people to play and win for the victory of their team. Some of them are for kids, youths, adults and especially families. But aside from that, it gave us time to have fun, relax and enjoy with our love ones. We also got the chance to meet and get to know new people. But most importantly, our love for one another grew and our relationship to our brothers and sisters in Christ grew along the fellowship.

Also on that day, six of our church members boldly decided to get baptized and do a public declaration of their personal faith in Jesus Christ for salvation. For as it is said in Acts 2:38 Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” Everyone witnessed how these people have grown in their faith to God. It was truly a life-changing experience for all of them as the old version of themselves are gone and the new life is born.
“While I am being baptized, I experienced darkness, but the moment that I got up I saw a light. During that time, I got terrified, but I told myself that I am willing to accept that feeling because I believe that is the Holy Spirit.”

Lastly, as the day ends outstanding people during the event was given a recognition and a small gift to show the gratitude and appreciation towards them for the huge effort that they gave for the successful family fun day and in leading their team.

And by that, it was proven that everyone’s life is truly a blessing to each other and to the church. May we continue to pray to the Lord who is in charge of sending workers to his field. And continue to use our talents always for God’s glory, to love each other as brothers and sisters in Christ and as well as the growth of our spiritual relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ.
